Dr. Gary Buchanan

I hold numerous degrees and certificates from institutions where I have both studied and taught, including the N.C. School of the Arts; Univ. of N.C.; Academia Chigiana in Siena, Italy; Univ. of Washington; and the Queensland Conservatorium in Brisbane, Australia. Since 1979 I have been in-residence with Cosolargy International and Steamboat Healing Center here in Nevada.

As a certified Cymatic Therapist,I have been offering healing sessions at Steamboat since 2004 Sonatherapy, is an innovative new therapy using sound, color, light, water and subtle energies — It is a non-invasive healing approach using biological vibrations scientifically proven beneficial to the body and its energetic fields. Over the last two decades all kinds of conditions have been successfully addressed. There have never been any negative outcomes among clients experiencing Sonatherapy. Clients always feel better afterwards.

Conditions that may be treated typically include bones, muscles, and joints; inflammation, pain, and circulatory problems; organic, respiratory, and digestive disorders; simple strains, fractures, bruises, along with skin conditions; and a host of common ailments that conventional medicine rarely addresses. Post-surgical sessions can also speed the healing of wounds, reduction of scar tissue, and restoration of movement.

It is always my pleasure in helping the clients that come for the therapy.

John Curry

Born and raised in Ireland I had the opportunity to travel to the US in 1986. I had the good fortune to spend the next 30 years working in the hospitality industry and travelling all over the mainland US, Caribbean and Hawaii. I returned to Reno in 2014 and got involved in Historic Steamboat Hot Springs. We worked on several projects from property renovations to increasing services and treatments. Steamboat has great healing properties and I knew that I was part of something really special.

I consider myself a compassionate human being, dedicated to Steamboat and all our clients and a great team of staff who I can call my family and friends. In my position I am organized, efficient and focused on making sure that everyone’s experience is relaxing and enjoyable. We will also focus on pool expansion this year, a vertical gardening program in conjunction with the Volunteers of America by providing the land, greenhouses and geothermal heating for a year round program. Team Steamboat is delighted and honored to be part of Reno and Washoe County and look forward to our continued involvement our local community. I am honored to be part of our special team here at Steamboat.

My off time is spent with my wife and best friend on hiking/photo and fishing trips.

Muriel Curry

With 35 years in the hospitality service and lots of traveling and living abroad I am happy to say that I have finally found my home and family at Steamboat Hot Springs and Healing Center. I am able to share my experiences with the staff and enjoy getting feedback from our valued customers as it gives us the opportunity to always improve. As a team we make a difference.

It has always been my pleasure to help people. Whether I am cooking for the staff, photographing a wedding, planting flowers, and sharing my home grown vegetables with staff and customers, Steamboat has given me the opportunity to pursue my hobbies.

I am grateful for this unique community and look forward to serving you.

Michael Tamburello

NVMT #4062

As a massage therapist, Michael’s goal is to enhance his client’s posture and flexibility, to encourage more efficient movement patterns by inducing relatively long lasting changes to the body’s structure, and to educate his clients into embodying these changes functionally. Michael graduated from The Ralston School of Massage in Reno, Nevada and became nationally certified in 2009. Michael became interested in Structural Body Work early in his studies and is continually refining his work, in light of recent research in fascia (connective tissue). He has personally studied with Antonio Stecco and Warren Hammer, both world class authorities on soft tissue and fascia, learning a technique called Fascial Manipulation, recently imported to the US from Italy.

Priscilla Escalera

NVMT #7796

Priscilla Escalera received her LMT through Milan Institute in Reno Nevada. Priscilla is an accomplished massage therapist who incorporates intuitive healing with her formal education. She comes from a long lineage of intuitive and traditional healers. Priscilla draws inspiration from many different cultural methods while remaining grounded in her Native American ancestry. Priscilla believes that by listening to the body during massage, the body can guide her intuitive touch so that greater healing can occur. She believes that massage is so integral to provide an outlet for stress and to receive nurturing to the body that has been lacking due to the day to day busyness that surrounds many of our current lifestyles. Priscilla’s goals are to create a safe haven from the outside world in which her clients can experience reconnection with their own body.

Victoria Muhl

Tori is a new addition to our Steamboat staff! She is a RYT 200, and completed her studies at The Studio Reno under Angie Fraley. She is excited to start crafting vinyasa flow classes for our Steamboat clients. Her favorite aspect of yoga is blending a physical practice with a meditative mind, to carry over the benefits of yoga into her life. She is currently enrolled at the California College of Ayurvedics to become a Clinical Health Advisor, as well as continuing her yoga education to receive her 500 level certification. She can often be found in crow pose, or cuddling her kitties, and is passionate about sharing her practice.

Tiffany Munoz

Tiffany is a Reno native who loves the outdoors, wellbeing and people. She is inspired by potential and is passionate about the body’s innate ability to heal itself through traditional holistic practices such as meditation, sound therapy and nutrition to name a few. She appreciates creativity and considers herself an intuitive therapist. Tiffany graduates from the University of Nevada, Reno in spring 2017 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family and a minor in Sociology. In 2016 she traveled to Greece with her sister to study its rich cultural heritage and classical history. Her hobbies include child outreach, astrology and having fun.

Tori Muhl

Tori is a Texas transplant who recently found yoga. She is a registered 200-hour yoga teacher and is finishing up her 500-hour teacher training. When she isn’t running around Steamboat you can find her with her cats, knitting or playing with arm balances. A big believer of increasing the net-goodwill in the world, she tries to brighten the space around her all the time.

Ciara Virden

LMT #8437

I am a graduate of The National Holistic Institute’s Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy Program.  I am passionate about utilizing my knowledge of Trigger Point pain referral patterns to alleviate my client’s chronic pain, increase the range of motion and assist in the improvement of overall body function.  I love adding my work into a deep tissue massage and believe that is where you can receive the best results.  I have experience working in gyms and with athletes along side their personal trainers.  When I am not massaging, I am usually playing with my dogs, swimming, or enjoying a good book.
